The OPENING ACTS are: The band Piks n' Strings will bring their folk/bluegrass music and humor from Pueblo. Del Milne will entertain you with vocals and guitar. His wife, Jane Milne will entertain with vocals, mandolin and autoharp. Del and Jane always bring smiles and laughter, and good music, when they entertain at Canon Rose.

Piks ‘N Strings is a Jane and Del Milne duo from Pueblo, CO. We have been performing in the Pueblo area for the past several years, Del on guitar and piano, Jane on Auto-Harp, and more recently on Mandolin. In the past we have both sung with the Pueblo Choral Society, and Del has sung with and directed the Pueblo Sunsational Barbershop Chorus. We sing what we enjoy including traditional bluegrass, country, folk, old-timey, and just plain fun “stuff”

 

 

 

Also returning to the Canon Rose stage is one of the founders of Canon Rose Acoustic, Charlie Hall, and Marianne McTigue. Charlie performed for 10 years with the popular bluegrass/folk group "Black Rose". He was a finalist in the 2002 National Finger Style Guitar Championship. Charlie is proprietor of Day Job Music and teaches guitar, bass, mandolin and theory. Charlie will delight you with his beautiful voice as well as his excellent guitar playing. Marianne McTigue began as a Suzuki violin student at age 6and now teaches violin and fiddle. Charlie and Marianne are organizers of the Colorado Roots Music Camp...information available at the show. Canon Rose Acoustic Society (CRAS) showcases professional and amateur talent on the 2nd Saturday of all months and the 4th Saturday of each month (except the months of May, November and December and dark the months of June, July and August)
